The range of Fear Free doors also
includes a 30 minute fire door. These doors are branded as Fire
Free and incorporate intumescent materials which have been applied
to key areas of the door and frame to stem the flow of flames and
hot gasses in case of fire.
Fire Free branded doors leafs feature a
patented foam core, surrounded by a laminated veneer substrate.
The surface of the door is made from glass reinforced polyester
resin. This is formed and bonded to the core in a unique one-step
press action while the resins are still in liquid form, ensuring
a monolithic structure and providing a half-hour fire rating on
both solid and glazed doors.

Fire Free Fire Doors were recently tested to BS 476: Part 22.
Both doors were glazed and achieved the following results:

Sample 1 (Left)

Sample 2 (Right)

Insulation
During the test the furnace temperature at 30 minutes was approaching
900°C. On the non-furnace side the average temperature of the
unexposed surface was less than 70°C. The criteria for a pass
was that it should not exceed 180°C.
Integrity
During the test the movement or distortion of the door leaf was
measured. With a temperature of almost 900°C recorded on the
furnace side the door was recorded as distorting by only 5mm.
